Directions
Your proposal is a one-paragraph description of Major Assessment 2: Research Essay.

  1. Brainstorm controversial or current events related to your discipline and based on the reading, Txting is Killing Language, JK!!.
  2. Narrow your topic, and compose a clear, concise thesis statement (the topic sentence of your proposal paragraph).
  3. Pose 5-8 focused questions or queries that you want your research to answer.  Each sentence or question should be, effectively, a potential topic sentence for each paragraph in your essay.  In other words, you will tell me what each paragraph in your essay will be about.
  4. List the databases and/or journals that you will use to find articles related to this topic.
  5. Choose two articles and present a proper APA reference with an Annotated Bibliography – a short summary of the article – for each source.
  6. Submit your word-processed proposal by deadline specified by your professor.  If the proposal does not meet with your professor’s approval, you will have to revise and resubmit before starting on your research.
