Please watch the documentary film Fed Up and answer the discussion questions.

1. The film paints First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign largely as a failure in terms of its affect on nutrition, intimating that the campaign shifted towards exercise because of external pressure from large food lobbies. Do you agree? Why or why not?

2. Many people, including the families depicted in Fed Up turn to low fat and low calorie food options in an effort to eat “healthier.” What are some of the reasons that these low fat and low calorie foods lead to poorer health?

3. Did the film leave you hopeful about the opportunity to improve national health or depressed by the powerful forces that harm national health?
