Imagine the company from Assignment 1 has made a commitment to increase diversity
awareness and minimize implicit bias in hiring policies and promotional practices, globally. You
have been asked by the executive team to conduct employee training sessions on diversity and
inclusion.
For this assignment, you will design a 10-minute presentation and a 15- to 20-minute group
exercise. The participants in the diversity workshop will include 12-15 of the company’s most
experienced hiring managers from several countries, some of whom will participate via web
conferencing software. They all speak fluent English so you will not need to worry about
translating materials.
The group exercise should be as interactive as possible and help participants practice putting the
concepts of diversity, inclusion, and implicit bias into action; given the recommended approach
you offered in your PowerPoint presentation (Colorblindness? Multi-culturalism?). The exercise
should be designed in a way that requires all participants to contribute, regardless of whether
they are physically present or not.
Your presentation and group exercise should be a narrated PowerPoint that includes:
 An introduction to the concepts of diversity, inclusion, and implicit bias; with examples
of how each concept can play a role in hiring and promotional decisions.
 A discussion of two of the most common organizational approaches to diversity: multiculturalism and colorblindness.
 Your recommendation for the diversity approach that the company should adopt, with a
rationale.
 Examples of how the recommended approach should be integrated into hiring and
promotional practices.
 Your workshop exercise that addresses the following:
o Learning outcomes for workshop participants
o Instructions for how to implement the exercise, keeping in mind that some participants
are not physically present
o Discussion questions for post-exercise follow-up with all participants
Presentation Length: 10-12 slides, not including title and reference slides.
Speaker Notes: 200-350 words per slide
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources.
Your narrated presentation and workshop exercise should demonstrate thoughtful consideration
of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating
directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
